In NYC for the weekend and wanted to try some food and their Korean town. After walking around and looking at different places, I stopped at this one. It was really cute how it was set up. It's basically like a convenience store where all the food is already premade and you just pick it and then you pay for it. They do have some things that are always hot like rice and soup. You can use the microwaves they have there as well to heat up your food if you decided to eat it there. They also have refreshments there for you to drink and nice little desserts. Always look for what the specials are. I noticed that today that they had specific specials and those are the ones you should try. The space is nice and you can sit down if you can find a table because it's definitely a first come first serve kind of deal. the prices are reasonable and you do get a 8% discount if you use cash.
Woorijip is a quick service, cafeteria style spot in K Town, offering up pre-packaged portions of Korean staples (bulgogi, bibimbap, japchae, and more) at super cheap prices. As soon as you walk in, you'll see the goods: a row of shelves with dishes separated by protein / course. Grab what you want and head to the cashier to pay. There are a few tables (and a microwave to reheat the goods) for those dining in, but the smart play is to pick up a dish or two for takeout
Convenient, fast, and healthy--what more could you ask for! The store is a grab and go location, with clean seats and unique alcohols. The kimbap is a relatively affordable meal for the K-Town area, and it's delicious for sure.
Got the mandus, croquettes, assorted kimbap, radish soup, Korean fried chicken, takoyaki. The kimbap was the least favorite... some of them tasted kind of weird like if they're not fresh. Everything else was pretty good! Favorites were the Korean fried chicken and the radish soup! Prices were rather decent as well. They have a big selection of dishes!
Woorijip is a fantastic spot for quick, tasty, and affordable Korean food! They have a great selection of pre-packaged options like kimbap, glass noodles, kimchi fried rice, fried chicken, and more. The food is always fresh, and the prices are super budget-friendly. Though the storefront seems small, it's much bigger inside with plenty of seating both in the front and back. The staff regularly restock the shelves with fresh dishes, and I appreciate the clear labels showing when the food was made and when it'll be replaced to maintain quality. The checkout is simple, with both cash and card accepted. A fridge full of drink choices is nearby, and there's even a restroom in the back. Everything I tried was delicious--I'm looking forward to coming back to try more! Just note, they're closed on Sundays.
My favorite go to spot for something quick and cheap while still being delicious and filling. This is your standard grab and go spot. There's a large variety of food you can pick from sitting out that's made fresh every day. You can choose to microwave to heat them up if you want. You can also get food that's kept hot and cold. Great when you don't want to spend too much money for some Korean food, especially in this neighborhood.
My brother suggested we stop by Woorijip to pick up food to go before we had to leave to the airport. It was the best idea ever!! Come here if you'd like to have a taste of authentic Korean food at a reasonable price. We got the stir fried tofu veggies over rice, a few of their kimbap, and spicy Tteok-boki special. As silly as it may sound, the stir fried tofu veggies were by far my FAVE. It had great flavor to it without making me feel bloated. The tteok boki was also bomb!!! Paying for your items was pretty quick, and workers were seen restocking the food!
You are looking for a large selection of Korean food and just want to have quick meal but also affordable and tasty ? This place is THE place. If you pay by cash, they have discount. This is like a small supermarket but for premade food. You walk in and choose whatever dish you want, you can ask them to preheat your meal if you want it extra hot. After paying, you can choose to sit wherever you want. No server, so you will need to clean up after yourself. The store is always busy so you will feel a sense of community while dining here.
It's a no-frills store selling pre-made/pre-packaged foods like variety of kimbaps, glass noodles with mixed veggies, pan-fried imitation crab pancake, kimchi fried rice, meat and veggie based curries, rice platters, fried chicken, and banchan among other dishes at a reasonably affordable price. Conveniently located by the Q, N, R, W, B, D, F, M trains. The storefront might have looked small from the see-through display window, but it's actually pretty big & spacious towards the back. Amiable amount of seating both in the front and back. Staff would bring/roll out the pre-made food on a cart and stack them high on metal shelves on top of each other. There's also a slip of paper on the side stating what time the food is brought out and when they would discard it after some time (like 4 hours later) to ensure the quality & freshness of the food if no one happens to be buying them that day. Cashiers by the register are on the side of the space, customers can pay in both cash and/or credit card. The fridge of cold drinks is right next to the seating in the back, quite a different amount of choices to pick from. There's also a restroom in the back....I didn't need to use it afterwards, so I don't know if it's well maintained or not. What I Got: * Spicy Squid Kimbap w/ Purple Rice (lots of squid in between the rice roll & tastes so fresh within every bite) * Pan-Fried Imitation Crab Pancake (already smells so good even before opening the container) * Glass Noodles w/ Mixed Veggies (the noodles so lightweight to eat during the summer w/o feeling too full or heavy in my stomach after digestion) * Chicken Cutlet w/ Veggie Curry (curry so flavorful w/o being too salty + chicken cutlet not salty at all, only thing is it might not be crunchy anymore) But, everything's so delicious overall!!! Can't wait to go back and try everything else. Lastly, they close on Sundays.
